Wakayama’s Famous Sea Rocks Come Alive After Dark
Wakayama –
A spectacular illumination of the Hashigui Rocks, a nationally designated natural monument in Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture, is set to begin on October 30, transforming a series of unusual coastal rock formations into a colorful nighttime attraction.
A trial lighting was held on October 29 ahead of the official opening, with approximately 40 rock formations of various sizes, rising dramatically from the sea along the coastline, illuminated in vivid shades of blue and orange after sunset.
The colorful lights created a幻想ical atmosphere, highlighting the distinctive shapes of the rocks against the dark sea.
The illumination will continue through November 1, with the lights switched on each evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
