The name Isaias is pronounced “ee-sah-EE-ahs,” with the stress on the third syllable.
Isaias is a Spanish form of Isaiah. Variations such as “ee-SAY-us” or “eye-SAY-us” may also be heard, but “ee-sah-EE-ahs” is the traditional Spanish pronunciation.
Hurricane Isaias, the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season and the ninth named storm of the season, made landfall Friday night along the Gulf Coast.
