Join a crafty get-together in Casares « Euro Weekly News
Autumn has arrived in Casares, and the town hall is welcoming it in a friendly and creative way. With paper, paint and good company. Three craft workshops are coming to the local area this month, each needing your artistic skills to decorate paper lamps with seasonal scenes.
What is happening?
Called Taller de Manualidades Otoñales (Autumn Crafts Workshop), the activity invites people to decorate paper lamps with designs inspired by the season. Think autumnal lamps covered in maple leaves in warm reds, golds and oranges, plenty of cosy colour. Casares Town Hall describes it as an activity to enjoy, create and share.
Dates, times and places
Each of the three areas gets its own session, so you can choose whichever is closest to home:
Secadero: Tuesday, November 3 at 4pm, in the Salon de Talleres (the workshop hall).
Costa: Thursday, November 5 at 10.30am, in the Tenencia de Alcaldia (the town hall’s local branch office).
Casares: Tuesday, November 10 at 5pm, in the Centro de Encuentro de Mayores (the Senior Citizens’ Meeting Centre), opposite the Mercado Municipal.
How to sign up
Registration is required so organisers can prepare for materials and numbers, these can be made through the Tourist Office or the town hall’s local offices in the outlying areas.
Craft sessions like this are about more than the finished lamp. Sitting down with a pot of paint, a few neighbours and a pile of paper leaves is a wonderful gentle way to spend a morning or an afternoon, and a lovely excuse to chat with people from your own corner of the local area.
