Ranji Trophy 2026-27 — Jharkhand, Kerala share spoils

The Jharkhand vs. Kerala Ranji Trophy 2026-27 match ended in a draw on Day 4 in Jamshedpur on Wednesday, with an outright result no longer possible.

The match ended with Kerala at 62/2 in its follow-on innings, with less than half a day’s play remaining. Jharkhand will be the less happy of the two sides, having been the better team across the first three days.

Batting first, Jharkhand posted a mammoth 587 on a pitch that offered little assistance to the bowlers. The home side had three centurions in Shikhar Mohan, captain Virat Singh and Aditya Singh. The trio combined for 398 runs as Kerala’s bowlers endured a long day in the field.

Vaisakh Chandran, despite conceding 166 runs, claimed five wickets and was the only Kerala bowler to make an impression. In reply, Kerala made a strong start as openers Abhishek P. Nair and Rohan Kunnummal made the most of the favourable batting conditions. Rohan was dismissed for 44, while Abhishek scored 126 off 204 balls.

Despite Abhishek’s effort, Kerala was bowled out for 395 and failed to avoid the follow-on.

Jharkhand took three points, while Kerala settled for one.
