“What should we name our red panda cub?” That’s the question the Smithsonian National Zoo Institute is asking, presenting three options for panda lovers across the nation to vote on.

The zoo said in June, red pandas Keahi and Rocket welcomed a female cub at its conservation campus in Front Royal, Virginia. The cub has so far “distinguished herself with bold and feisty behavior.”
According to a voting form, the animal care team has selected three possible names for her, asking for animal lovers to cast their vote on what they like best.
“Dolly — inspired by country music legend, Dolly Parton, Pyra — meaning ‘heat’ in Greek, and Dolpa — a region of Nepal that is home to wild red pandas,” are the names the organization is deciding upon.
