Sharjah Charity pays Dhs2.6m in school fees for 600 needy students

Since the beginning of the new academic year until mid-September, Sharjah Charity International has paid the tuition fees for 600 students in need as part of the “Supporting Students” project, after their families’ financial circumstances prevented them from securing school placements.

The amounts paid by Sharjah Charity amounted to Dhs2.6 million, allowing students to complete their enrollment procedures and attend their classes.

Mohammed Sulim Al Manei, Director of the Internal Aid Department at the association, stated that supporting education is one of the top priorities, based on the importance of helping students whose families’ financial conditions prevent them from continuing their education regularly. He explained that the assistance provided by the association during the first weeks of the academic year contributed to resolving cases of educational struggle which threatened to deprive students of their seats, as their outstanding fees were paid, enabling them to attend school regularly.

Al Manei added that this assistance is a continuation of what the association provided before the start of the academic year, as its initiatives included supporting 6,500 students from various educational levels by providing school bags equipped with all necessary tools and school supplies, preparing students to start their school year without tuition costs and school tools forming an additional burden on their families.

The journey of supporting students is still at its beginning and the association continues to receive dozens of educational aid requests daily through its website, Al Manei pointed out, calling on philanthropists to continue supporting the “Supporting Students” project.
