Adran Premier: Wins for Wrexham, TNS, Cardiff and Swansea
Sunday, 25 October
Barry Town United 1-3 Wrexham
Wrexham stayed top of the table above The New Saints as they eased to victory at Barry Town.
Natasha Thomas opened for the visitors and Faye Knox added their second before Erin Murray gave Barry hope just before the break.
Maria Francis-Jones’ second-half score ensured victory to keep her side top on goal difference.
Briton Ferry Llansawel 0-6 Cardiff City
Two places and five points separated these sides before the Bluebirds ruthlessly exposed a gulf in class between them.
Mia Shannon Malone broke home resistance in the 11th minute and the one-way traffic continued with Kate Oakley’s penalty followed by Haile Janette Pereira Richards, Anna Houghton, Mackenzie Hope Olden and Lily Billingham finding the back of the Briton Ferry net.
Cardiff Met 0-2 Swansea City
The hosts’ resistance was finally broken when Aimee Deacon struck in the 66th minute. Chloe Chivers went on to seal the fifth win of the campaign for the Swans as they held onto fourth place, while Cardiff Met stayed sixth.
The New Saints 4-0 Aberystwyth Town
The New Saints kept up their title challenge with a comfortable victory over winless and bottom side Aberystwyth.
Fiona Barry scored the hosts’ first and last goals, with Caitlin Chapman and Abbie Idenden scoring either side of the break.
