Ras Al Khaimah shipyard builds luxury yacht for football legend Messi

Argentine football icon Lionel Messi has commissioned a new luxury yacht, the Ultima 88, which is currently being built at Sunreef’s shipyards in Ras Al Khaimah.

Once completed, this yacht will join his fleet stationed in the Spanish Balearic Islands.

The yacht measures around 26.8 metres in length and combines expansive indoor spaces with outdoor areas designed for relaxation and marine activities.

It will feature four guest suites and a master suite, providing plenty of privacy and comfort. It also includes an ocean lounge that opens directly to the sea, enhancing access to swimming and water sports.

Additionally, there is a dedicated garage for personal watercraft and a large upper deck.

Sunreef welcomed Messi warmly, adding him to their family. Francis Lapp, the company’s founder and CEO, remarked that Messi’s choice to collaborate with Sunreef highlights their commitment to luxury, which is increasingly associated with privacy and personal control over leisure time.

Messi expressed his excitement by mentioning how honoured he feels to be part of the Sunreef family, noting that his family enjoys spending time at sea whenever possible.
