Saudi, Iranian foreign ministers disscuss regional tensions, Houthis

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister spoke with his Iranian counterpart to discuss the latest regional escalation and efforts to de-escalate tensions, the Saudi state agency reported on Sunday, in their first publicly reported contact since Iran-aligned Houthis intensified strikes against the kingdom.

Iran’s foreign minister told his Saudi counterpart that Tehran is ready to provide assistance to facilitate negotiations between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

This is a developing story.
