Donald Trump claims Iran war will ‘end very soon’ in White House speech
US President Donald Trump claimed that the US “shouldn’t worry now” because it “stopped Iran from having a nuclear weapon” during a speech at a White House Columbus Day celebration on Friday.
Trump alleged that 28 million barrels of oil were “taken out” on Thursday, adding that “The prices (of diesel) will come tumbling (down).”
“I think we took out more than we’ve ever taken out at any time, including before the war,” he continued.
He added that the US put up a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz that “nobody gets through,” the same day that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Armed Corps (IRGC) targeted a ship and threatened to “punish” any additional “illegal” tankers passing through the waterway.
Regarding Iran’s defense capabilities, the US president said, “They have no military, they have no navy, they have no air force, they have no anti-aircraft things.”
“It’s gonna be over soon, one way or the other,” Trump claimed about the war. “We can do it either way, very simple, but one way or the other it’s gonna be over very soon.”
Trump also alleged that if the US military hadn’t attacked Iran with B-2 bombers, they would’ve been “two or three weeks away” from having a nuclear weapon.
“They would’ve used it fast, and they would’ve blown up the Middle East. Totally Israel first, and then they would’ve come for our country,” he told the room of spectators.
