Ojen Feria 2026 is coming « Euro Weekly News

Ojen is opening up and about to bring you tradition, culture and celebration for five full days, as the La Feria de Ojen returns for 2026.

Ojen Feria 2026, what is on the agenda

Running from Thursday, October 8 to Monday, October 12, this celebration is held in honour of its patron saint, San Dionisio Concerts, family activities and plenty for youngsters will be going on alongside the cultural traditions of the town.

Thursday, October 8 opens with the traditional opening speech and crowning ceremony. It is also Children’s Day, with the group Insakay and the Dynamic and D’Vertigo orchestras in the town’s main fair marquee.

Friday, October 9 is the feast day of San Dionisio and begins with a Mass sung in flamenco style. The saint then tours the streets accompanied by The Agrupacion Musical Marbella, a band from Marbella, followed by the ribbon race in which riders try to hook small ribbons hanging from a wire. Luis Romero and the Estopa tribute close the night. Saturday is all about the older residents with a dedicated lunch to just them.

Sunday, 11 October treats crowds to La Guardia, a Granada band led by Manuel España, to the same marquee. Children get a party of their own with the Guerreras K-Pop, a K-pop demon hunters inspired act for youngsters.

A fitting finale on Monday 12 October as the fair closes on the feast of the Virgen del Pilar, patron saint of Spain’s Guardia Civil police force. Her image heads through the narrow streets once more, and ends with a closing concert.

Parking and road closures, what drivers need to know

Ojen Town Hall has issued traffic rules for the fair, so plan your arrival. The first section of Calle Colegio must be clear of vehicles from 11am on Monday, October 5 until 8am on Tuesday, October 13.

Access to the car park at the sewage treatment plant from the El Castañar roundabout closes from 8pm on Tuesday, October 6. The road becomes one-way only, leaving Ojen towards Marbella, with parking allowed on one side. Drivers must therefore enter the village via Calle Carretera. Parking is banned throughout the depuradora car park until the fair ends. Please follow the signs to keep traffic moving safely.

A warm welcome for newcomers

Mayor Juan Merino Marquez says the fair is the moment when Ojen “meets itself again” through its people and customs. Culture and Festivals councillor Maria Cámara adds that she wants every resident to find their own moment in the programme. It is a lovely chance to join in with village life, so pack comfortable shoes and say hi to your neighbours.
