Local health experts to go door to door and survey Birmingham area

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

Experts from the Jefferson County Health Department are preparing to go door to door to get answers to health questions. It’s part of a plan to get the public’s perspective on health needs in the community.

The JCDH website shows September 30th through October 1st health experts will engage the public about how healthcare in the community and health department services can be improved.

The study will take place in parts of these communities:

• Bessemer
• Birmingham
• Fairfield
• Fultondale, including some unincorporated sections
• Gardendale
• Helena
• Hoover
• Tarrant
• Trussville, including some unincorporated sections
• Unincorporated Jefferson County areas
• Vestavia Hills and nearby unincorporated areas, including an unincorporated area surrounded by Vestavia Hills

To verify their association with the Jefferson County Department of Health, JCDH staff will wear uniformed shirts and official photo identification badges showing a name, photo, and the JCDH logo.

Participation is voluntary and is limited to household members who are 18 years of age or older.

If you decide to take part, the survey will take approximately 25 to 30 minutes and will help JCDH better understand resident needs and improve programs and services.
