Eberly defeats Brown, flips House District 67

The statewide races may not have gone the way Arkansas Democrats hoped, but they are seeing more down-ballot success than a lot of folks expected going into tonight. Case in point: Democrat Andrew Cade Eberly has defeated Republican State Rep. Karilyn Brown and has flipped House District 67.

Brown was seeking a seventh term in the House, but Eberly led from the jump, putting up a nearly 16-point lead in early voting. Brown ate into that lead a bit with Election Day votes, but Eberly held on and won by more than 11 points in the end.

With Alex Holladay winning reelection and Cassandra Mayes winning Rep. Brandon Achor’s old seat, a large swath of Pulaski County north of the river is suddenly, surprisingly blue.
