India vs UAE, Hong Kong Sixes: UAE outplays Krunal Pandya’s side, wins by six wickets

India’s search for a first win in the Hong Kong Sixes continued after it succumbed to a six-wicket loss to UAE at the Kwong Road Recreation Ground on Sunday.

Batting first, India managed 94/6 in its six overs before UAE overhauled the target with 10 balls to spare and all wickets intact.

Earlier on Friday, Pakistan had made light work of an 89-run target, chasing it down in just 3.5 overs to hand India a comprehensive defeat.

Abbas Afridi set the tone with a brutal assault on Krunal Pandya, launching five successive sixes to plunder 31 runs in the opening over and put Pakistan firmly in control.

The onslaught continued as Afridi and Khawaja Nafay took 28 runs off T. Natarajan in the next phase of the innings. Pakistan raced to 73 for one at the halfway mark, leaving the contest all but settled.

India managed a brief breakthrough when Krunal turned to Shashank Singh, who dismissed Afridi for a blistering 35 off just eight deliveries. But the reprieve did little to slow Pakistan’s charge.

Nafay picked up where his partner left off, smashing an unbeaten 41 off 12 balls, with two fours and five sixes. Irfan Khan provided the finishing touches as Pakistan completed the chase in just 3.5 overs.
