Arla protein pudding recalled over glass risk

SINGAPORE – The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has recalled a pudding product from a Danish brand, due to the potential presence of glass fragments.

The item is Arla Protein Salted Caramel Flavour Pudding (200g), which originated from Denmark, and has a “best before” date of April 28, 2027, SFA said in a media statement on Oct 26.

SFA has directed the importer, Trade-Pro Food Distribution, to recall the implicated product as a precautionary measure following an earlier recall by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand.

The recall is ongoing.

The pudding is sold at FairPrice and Cold Storage supermarkets, as well as online marketplaces including GrabMart, Lazada, Redmart, Shopee and FoodPanda.

Those who bought the implicated product should not consume it, SFA said, while those who have consumed it and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice.

Ingesting glass fragments may lead to cuts or tears in the digestive tract. Anyone who experiences chest or abdominal pain, blood in stool, abdominal bloating, or a fever after ingesting the implicated product should seek medical attention.

Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries, the agency added.
