Cork: Murder investigation launched after man’s body found

A murder investigation has been launched after a man’s body was discovered in Ballyellis, Mallow, County Cork on Thursday.

It follows the completion of a post-mortem examination by the Assistant State Pathologist.

He has been named locally as Paul O’Connor, 56, from Ballyphehane in Cork, Irish broadcaster RTÉ reports.

Gardaí (Irish police) said they are not releasing the post-mortem examination results for operational reasons, but RTÉ is reporting that the man died violently.
