DeKalb County hit and run: Pedestrian killed on Lavista Road
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – DeKalb County police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian on Lavista Road Tuesday morning.
What we know:
DeKalb County Police officers responded around 4:59 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Lavista Road near Henderson Road. Investigators said a man was walking in the right lane of the road when a vehicle hit him.

The driver did not stay at the location after the collision, and the pedestrian died from his injuries at the scene.
What we don’t know:
Police have not released the identity of the man who died or provided a description of the vehicle involved. Investigators have not said what caused the pedestrian to walk in the roadway or if any surveillance footage captured the incident.
