Texas’ new attorney general composed music for ‘Dragon Ball Z’

Before Texas state Sen. Nathan Johnson won the race for Texas attorney general and became the first Democrat to hold the office in more than two decades, he composed music for “Dragon Ball Z” episodes and movies.
Johnson said in a June interview that he had written musical scores for numerous episodes of the show.
Johnson, a Dallas Democrat, serves as a Texas state senator. On Tuesday, he beat Republican state Sen. Mayes Middleton in the race for state attorney general.
What did he do before becoming a Texas senator?
In the 2000s, before entering politics, Johnson worked as a composer for “Dragon Ball Z,” writing musical scores for the anime series and movies, he said in an interview with Texas state Sen. Taylor Rehmet that was posted to Facebook in June.
“If you grew up watching Dragon Ball Z, you might know me better than you think,” Johnson wrote in the post. “I composed the musical scores for 67 episodes and five movies, and had a great time doing it.”
Johnson’s IMDb profile shows that he worked on “Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn” (1995), “Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon” (1995) and “Dragon Ball Z: Broly – Second Coming” (1994). He also worked as a voice actor in 2012 and 2013 for “Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I” and “Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III.”
Johnson practiced business law and bankruptcy law before running for the state Senate seat he has now held for three terms, according to Entertainment Weekly.
