Where in Spain is Monday November 2nd a public holiday?

As November 1st or All Saints’ Day falls on a Sunday in 2026, only nine regions in Spain have decided to move the usual public holiday to Monday 2nd.
All Saints’ Day, celebrated every year on November 1st, falls on a Sunday this year, a circumstance that allows Spain’s 17 autonomous communities to decide whether to move the holiday to the following Monday or replace it with another day off at another time of the year.
In 2026, nine Spanish regions have designated November 2nd as a holiday, while in the remaining ones it will be a normal workday.
Andalusia, Aragón, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Madrid and Navarre are the regions that have included Monday November 2nd among their public holidays for 2026.
In these regions, people who do not normally work Saturdays or Sundays will be able to enjoy three consecutive days off: Saturday October 31st, Sunday November 1st, and Monday November 2nd.
In these regions, some shops, bars and services may remain open, although the majority of people will take the day off.
In the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, Catalonia, Galicia, Murcia, the Basque Country, La Rioja and the Valencian region, November 2nd will be a normal working day.

The fact that All Saints’ Day falls on a Sunday does not mean that the customary events that happen on this date will be moved to Monday.

As on November 1st it is customary for Spaniards to visit cemeteries, remember deceased loved ones, or gather with family members, you can expect the same to happen this Sunday.

The maximum number of public holidays in Spain is 14 per year, including two local holidays, all of which are paid and non-recoverable. National, regional, and municipal holidays are distributed within this limit.
In other words, the fact that November 2nd is a working day in a region does not necessarily mean that its workers will have fewer public holidays throughout 2026; it just means different festivo dates have been chosen.
After All Saints’ Day, the next major holiday period in Spain begins with Constitution Day, celebrated on December 6th, which this year also falls on a Sunday.
The holiday will be observed on Monday 7th in Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Cantabria, Castile and León, Extremadura, the Community of Madrid, Murcia, La Rioja, and Melilla.
In these regions, those with weekends off will be able to enjoy four consecutive days off, from Saturday 5th to Tuesday 8th of December, as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a public holiday throughout Spain.
