Mobile Battery Catches Fire on Tobu Isesaki Line Train
TOKYO –
A mobile battery caught fire inside a Tobu Isesaki Line train in Saitama Prefecture on September 14, leaving a high school student with minor burns before another passenger extinguished the flames.
The fire broke out shortly after 7:30 a.m. on a downbound train traveling between Washinomiya and Hanasaki stations.
The mobile battery was inside a bag belonging to a passenger when it caught fire.
Another passenger used a fire extinguisher on the train to put out the flames.
A high school student who was commuting to school suffered minor burns.
