Love Is Blind’s Malaine Leaves Early, Ghosts Wilson

Love Is Blind season 11 contestant Malaine Thorpe left the experiment early — without a word to her remaining pod connection.

During the experiment, Malaine, 31, sparked bonds with Cam Halloran and Wilson Monteiro in the pods, both of whom had other strong connections. When Cam broke up with Malaine, the portfolio analyst decided to leave the show.

“Cam was my No. 1, but he has a stronger connection with Aneha [Singh], and maybe that’s a better match,” Malaine said in a confessional. “I’m definitely disappointed to be leaving here alone, but with Wilson, I just don’t feel like it’s strong enough for a marriage.”

Malaine had a chance to say her goodbyes to the other ladies, wishing all of them — including Aneha, 27 — the best moving forward. She opted against extending the same courtesy to Wilson, 33.

“‘Why ghost him?’ I didn’t want to,” she told producers of leaving Wilson in the dark about her exit. “I think it’s just easier to not say anything.”

As for her departure, Malaine acknowledged that it was “definitely disappointing” to leave the Love Is Blind pods without finding her perfect match.

“I’m gonna be OK,” she added.

Wilson, for his part, only found out that Malaine had left during his date with Wilnie Louis.

“I’m gonna ask you a really hard question. It’s about your other relationship,” Wilnie, 31, asked Wilson in the pods. “It’s just that people are leaving.”

After being asked who left, Wilnie reluctantly revealed that Malaine had walked away from the experiment on her own.

“Uh, your other connection left,” she coyly stated. “I was debating whether I should tell you or let you find out.”

Wilson expressed that he “wished [he] had the convo” with Malaine for closure but remained open to his connection with the mental health counselor. As Wilson and Wilnie progressed throughout the experiment, they took the plunge and got engaged sight unseen.

“I’m grateful for you. I feel like I’m a better man,” Wilson gushed while proposing on bended knee. “We met in such a bizarre way, and I just wanna ask you, Wilnie, do you want to be my partner and crime? Go on this wild ride, this journey of this thing called love?”

While Wilson and Wilnie embraced their next chapter, Malaine wasn’t the only Bostonian to leave the pods solo. Morrey Eglin went home early without finding a match, as did Jacqueline “Jax” Guelli, who called off her engagement to Scott “Stew” Stewart mere moments after meeting in person.
