Financial Literacy Center opening at Legacy Prep

A partnership between Wells Fargo and Legacy Prep is aiming to bridge the gap between financial literacy and education.

Tuesday, the public charter school held a grand opening for the Wells Fargo Parent Resource & Empowerment Center.

The center will connect Legacy Prep parents with financial education and community resources, covering a number of topics, including credit, savings, and homeownership.

“This is more than a resource room. It is a space created specifically for our parents to learn, grow and connect with opportunities that connect their entire family,” said Dr. Renata Johnson, Head of Schools at Legacy Prep.

The center was made possible by a $50,000 investment by Wells Fargo.

According to a 2026 WalletHub study on the most and least financially literate states, Alabama came in 37th in the country.
