Siraj named Hyderabad captain for Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season; Chama Milind vice-captain
Hyderabad Cricket Association’s senior selection committee on Friday announced India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj as the captain of the Hyderabad senior team for the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season.
Left-arm pacer Chama Milind has been named as his deputy.
Siraj’s first stint leading Hyderabad came in the previous Ranji season, when he replaced Rahul Singh and led the side against Mumbai and Chhattisgarh. The home side failed to win both matches.
Hyderabad lost to Mumbai by nine wickets at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, thanks to Sarfaraz Khan’s double century and Siddhesh Lad’s ton in the first innings.
Against Chhattisgarh at the Gymkhana Ground, centuries by M. Abhirath, K. Jimateja and Pragnay Reddy put Hyderabad in command, before Amandeep Khare’s unbeaten ton on the final day saw the spoils shared.
